Eugene I. Shakhnovich, PhD

Eugene is a Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University. He is a leading researcher in protein folding and has carried out crucial work tying the physical chemistry of proteins to evolutionary biology. His laboratory has made fundamental contributions to understanding mechanisms of drug resistance by studying mutational fitness and organismal evolution using biophysical principles.

He is the author of more than 200 publications and co-founded Vitae Pharmaceuticals, which was acquired by Allergan for $639 million.
